My passion for art stems from a desire to understand the world around me. I often find that I am able to convey my thoughts, fears, and excitement visually in ways that I never would be able to through words. The act of drawing or painting itself is cathartic and healing for me. I believe that art is incomprehensibly powerful because in one stroke it can create anything, challenge any notion, destroy social and cultural barriers, and still inspire laughter.
I graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2018 with a degree in Drawing/Painting. After graduating, I worked at a local, family owned framing business where I managed an in-house photo center that specialized in photo printing, editing, and digital restoration. In December 2018, I became a Development Associate at the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music. Additionally, I am pursuing a second degree in Advertising, which I expect to complete in Spring 2022. I have always been interested in finding a way to combine my love of the arts with with nonprofit promotion, so a career in fundraising is a natural fit for me. I am excited for the opportunity to continue to grow as I take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
